Media Release – Wednesday 11 June 2014

Not literally of course!  But the Old Bus Depot Markets would love you to bring your kids to the markets this coming Sunday, 15 June, for their special family theme day, Kids in the Shed.

It’s the best day to find your inner child or just enjoy this fun family day out for children, parents and grandparents,” said Old Bus Depot Markets Director, Diane Hinds.

“It’s a vibrant, happy day where the kids can get to know some of our local characters, try some international cuisine and browse through things like handmade clothes, accessories, hand crafted toys, artworks for their bedrooms and much more,” said Diane.

At Kids in the Shed, children will also enjoy entertainment, face painting, yummy things to eat and stacks of stuff just for them.

“We’ll have lots of cool products for kids for sale on the day from babies, right through to teenagers,” Diane continued.

Products on offer include bright, funky, modern and wearable handmade clothes for little boys and girls, hand knitted kids clothing, the latest and grooviest accessories, organic cotton baby items, kids pine furniture and of course lots of toys!

And new for this year is a stallholder who creates beautiful and unique dolls houses out of old vintage suitcases, vintage cigar boxes and match boxes – some are for kids and some are designed for adults.

There will be lots of entertainment with a display by the Woden Valley Gymnastics Club at 10am, followed by the Jazzy Jumpers Rope Skipping Club at 11am. The ever-popular Milo the Clown will also be performing live at 11am and 12.30pm.

“It’s going to be a great day out for the kids with pony rides, the Bowral Farmyard Friends petting zoo, a jumping castle, fairy floss, balloons and face painting. They’re gonna love it!” concluded Diane.

The markets will be open on Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free. For more information on the Old Bus Depot Markets go to www.obdm.com.au
