Media Release – 8 May 2012

Fresh Snowy Mountains produce will be the star of the menu when television chef, author and judge from My Kitchen Rules Pete Evans, co-hosts a special dinner on Saturday 7 July 2012 at Cuisine Restaurant at Lake Crackenback Resort and Spa.

Along with Cuisine Restaurant’s Executive Chef Greg Pieper, the menu for this one-off event will feature some of the Snowy Mountain region’s finest winter produce and will be matched by wines from the Margaret River’s Voyager Estate.

Tourism Snowy Mountains CEO, Peter Sheppard, commends the initiative. “This event is a key driver in our indulgence and taste tourism strategy for Snowy Mountains. This is a growing market segment with recent surveys indicating that visitors to the region are keenly interested in local food and dining experiences. This is a perfect match of epicurean proportions — celebrity chef, local talent and exquisite Snowy Mountains produce — the taste of the Snowies!”

Bookings for the dinner are essential.  Tickets are $140 per person and can be booked online at www.lakecrackenback.com.au or by calling 02 6451 3000.  Great value accommodation packages at the Lake Crackenback Resort and Spa are also available.

This Celebrity Chef event is part of the Mountains of Events, an exciting program of year-round events in the spectacular Snowy Mountains.  Whether you are into music, physical challenges or good food and wine, there is something for everyone in the Snowy Mountains, whatever the season.
