The Chief Minister of the ACT, Mr Andrew Barr MLA, today jumped aboard a light aircraft with fire engines, the 28 metre Shannons Super Rig, a hot rod, electric bikes, race and rally cars and Go Karts assembled as the back drop to officially launch Canberra’s first ever Big Boys Toys Expo.

The vehicles assembled onsite at EPIC today were just a taste of the over 60 amazing exhibitors locked in for the exciting expo weekend this Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August at Exhibition Park.

The Chief Minister said at the launch that there is a real benefit to hosting new events to the Canberra economy, these events bring in tourists from outside of Canberra and the region, and also stimulate the local economy and support local businesses.

Big Boys Toys Expo Director, Steve Rohan-Jones, also spoke at today’s official launch.

“We have a strong experienced expo team with a long history of creating fabulous events, and this time around big boys are the focus. This expo really is all about creating a sense of fun and excitement – giving our visitors the chance to see some really awesome toys and products, and our exhibitors the chance to showcase their businesses,” said Steve Rohan-Jones.

“There is a local and regional flavour to our many exhibitors and there will be something for everyone. There will be exhibitor displays, retail, demos and some really fun interactive experiences to suit all ages including a flight simulator, ATV vehicle test driving, pinball, arcade machines, a dive tank and much, much more,” continued Steve Rohan-Jones.

Both Steve Rohan-Jones and the Chief Minister revealed today that the Canberra Big Boys Toys Expo is locked in to take place in Canberrra for the next three years, until 2017.

Canberra Big Boys Toys Expo will be held this coming Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August at Exhibition Park in Canberra. The expo is open 10am to 5pm each day.
