Media Release – 17 April 2012

The hills will really be alive with the sound of music as the annual Snowy Mountaints of Music festival kicks off the 2012 snow season. This fab four day festival, Australia’s only music festival in the snow,  takes place from the 8-11 June 2012.

Snowy Mountains of Music will play host to some of Australia’s best live music acts in around ten indoor venues in the Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes and Guthega Apline Village. The 4th annual Snowy Mountains of Music festival offers a great mix of world, folk, roots, Celtic, acoustic, traditional music, song, dance, poetry and yarn spinning.

“With headlining acts including The Black Seeds from New Zealand as well as  Karma County’s front man Brendan Gallagher, Nicky Bomba with Bustamento, and The Quarry Mountain Dead Rats, set amongst some of the most amazing scenery the snowies have to offer, the event is one not to be missed,” said Tourism Snowy Mountains CEO, Peter Sheppard.

“Being the start of the 2012 snow season, early snow fall will also provide plenty of entertainment for everybody, especially first-timers,” continued Peter.

Weekend festival passes start from just $155pp, and all inclusive accommodation packages are also available.
